Explicit & Interactive
All concepts are taught in a clear, precise manner. Students actively participate in all learning, engaging their senses to boost learning and maintain focus. Heidi Hildebrandt, Owner and Tutor at Steps 2 Reading, LLC, provides immediate feedback to students during the lesson, praising achievements and gently guiding students to make corrections.
Multi-sensory
During lessons, students simultaneously use all learning pathways in the brain (visual, auditory, kinesthetic-tactile) in order to enhance learning and memory. Students manipulate sound, syllable, and suffix cards and magnetic letter tiles to learn and practice concepts.
Systematic & Cumulative
Students learn English language concepts in a logical order. They experience success and are motivated to learn more. The concepts in each unit build upon previously taught skills. Also, each lesson progresses through a sequence of short activities to practice and reinforce understanding.
Repetitious
Students spend part of each lesson reviewing previous concepts. Also, acquiring new skills requires students to compare and contrast new information with previously learned concepts.
